A star is falling. I must quickly make a wish. That’s what I have learned, and that’s what they told me when I was a kid. When a star falls, I have to make a wish. I read in fairy tales that stars have extraordinary powers. They make dreams come true, listen to people, and answer various requests. A star can guide.
So many wishes can’t fit in one thought. Can they fit in a star? It travels, unknown in which corner of the universe, maybe it feels even a little indifferent. I keep seeing the same star, always shining up there, until one night it falls.
It runs, leaving a brilliant line until it disappears. Perhaps it’s bigger, darker, or shinier. So far away, it enchants with mysteries. Accustomed to silence, it doesn’t travel for us, it doesn’t listen to talking, and it doesn’t understand wishes.
I wish. I rarely see falling stars, but I always see people falling. I understand it. A star is falling, and I have to make a wish. I wish it would stop falling.
I wish it would stop. Whatever so many value, it is of no importance to me. Whatever many think is essential, I do not even know it.
I wish he could see. From a star, he could learn. Some forget about it and don’t look up anymore. They don’t react. Gone are the dreams of that star. They forget to talk to it, and they fail to get their answer.
I hope he understands. The stars have so much to say that a blind soul cannot hear. It disappears, and the light is missing. In the silent days, the stars help, and only they understand.
I hope he finds out. Some don’t treat the stars right. Thoughts feel the need to be spoken, and they confuse truths with lies for false reassurance. In the end, they are just words. Only the star knows this.
I hope he accepts. We come from the stars, and that’s where we’re going. He doesn’t see it. He doesn’t remember it. Perhaps he’ll accept it, but maybe he’ll be lost.
I wish he would dare. Some fear the stars until they forget their existence and their importance in life. I hope they would travel among them and look at them with courage.
I hope for the combination. I wish for the alternative. The relationship that has lasted centuries now, the stars support it, watch over it, and take care of it. They fall for its shake.
I hope it falls.
